Loved this book, having two very young children to look after i often find it hard to keep the memento of reading a book going but not this one, i looked forward to being able to sit down in the evenings and read Sister rather than just sit cabbage like in front of the tv.   The recipient of the New England Book Award for her entire body of work, she is the author of twenty-six novels, including the #1 New York Times bestsellers House Rules, Handle With Care, Change of Heart, and My Sister’s Keeper, for which she received the American Library Association’s Margaret Alexander Edwards Award. She lives in New /5(K).

They climb trees, swing, share snacks, make things, and help each other out with chores and when they just need a hug.3/5.

“Help” your sister wake up on time. After your sister goes to bed, move all of the clocks ahead five hours (but keep your own alarm at the correct time and hide it from your sister's view). Then, set your alarm for 3am and run into your sister's room to let her know that it's 8am and she's going to be late for school. My Sister's Keeper is definitely a book about the nuclear family. We see Aunt Suzanne a few times, but she's not really that important—it's all about the parents and kids here and one of the kids was genetically engineered.

A True Story of AdoptionCited by: 1. One of the best things about the book is that the adoptive mother and adopted daughter wrote the book together. It is written from the point of view of the child, 6 yrs old. The recommended age is yrs, but it was totally appropriate for my 10 yr old son.5/5(3).

Having a sister is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Granted, my sister Alex and I are pretty freakish: in our 22 years of sisterhood, we have never seriously fought. Not : Caroline Goldstein. Sisters, naturally enough, is about Raina's relationship with her younger sister Amara, from Amara's birth through Raina's teens.

And as a big sister, I can so completely and totally relate. Nobody can push your buttons like a younger sibling/5.

They are sisters, after uses her signature humor and charm in both present-day narrative and perfectly placed flashbacks to tell the story of her relationship with her sister, which unfolds during the course of a road trip from their home in.

These books are great because each one is tailored to the gender of your older child, so that you can choose a book that is the most relatable to them.

Told from the perspective of the older brother/sister, these books will teach your child all of the good things that they have to look forward to with their new little sibling.

Sisters has much to say about family dynamics and sibling rivalries. Most readers will relate to the issues and conflicts that arise. Sisters emphasizes that families need to work together to settle their differences and move forward. Each character in the book has a 5/5.

My sister and I reconnected not that long ago after a bit of an estrangement and I have to say for the last year or so (since my daughter got sick), she has been my one constant rock and I wouldn’t have got through things without her.

She’s also my beta reader and I gave a book about sisters for Christmas. Two sisters who are constantly at odds take a family road trip that covers more ground—both literally and figuratively—than they expect.

After begging her parents for a sister, Raina gets more than she bargained for once Amara is born. From the moment she was brought home, Amara hasn’t been quite the cuddly playmate that Raina had hoped.
